By, Ethan Rish
In this article we will be rating restaurants around town. We will rate them by food, service, and ambiance.
Our first restaurant will be Sushi Palace. Sushi Palace is an all you can eat restaurant. They have soups, salads, and sushi. Their food is 3.5/5. The staff was nice but the service was a little slow. The service is 4/5. The building is small and they have some staff sleeping in the back when they are not that busy. The ambiance is 3/5. Overall Sushi Palace ranks 3.5/5.
The next restaurant is Iavarone. Iavarone is an Italian restaurant. Iavarone has a supermarket at its own location. Iavarone is a higher end restaurant. Iavarone’s food is 5/5. Iavarone is a big, busy restaurant so the service is a little slow. Their service is 4.5/5. Iavarone really worked hard putting up decorations. Their ambiance is 4.8/5. Overall Ivarone rates 4.7/5.
The next restaurant is Pelicana Chicken. Pelicana Chicken sells Korean chicken wings. One annoying thing about Pelicana Chicken is you have to order twelve wings or more. Pelicana Chicken has great spices and seasonings that they put on your wings. The food is 4.3/5. The service was very quick. The service is 4.5/5. We didn't eat there so I don’t know about the ambiance. It looks small inside. In total Pelicana Chicken rates a 4.4/5.
The next restaurant is Hatch. Hatch is mainly known for their extremely good brunch food. Hatch is located in Huntington. The best food would be pancakes or a bundle of food like pancakes and bacon. Their orange juice and other juice’s are great. Hatch’s food is 4.8/5. Hatch is a small, but packed place. You should make a reservation if you can to go. Otherwise you may be waiting for 30+ minutes. They have 90’s vibes in the building. The building has vibrant colors and they play hip hop music. Their ambiance is 4.2/5. Hatch’s service can be slow if they are short staff on a busy day. Their service is a 3.8/5. Hatch’s total rating is 4.3/5.
Rating Video Games
By: Gavin Lichtenthal
Do you have no video games to play? Do you think that you have nothing to do with that console that you have sitting in the corner of your room? Well today I will be rating video games, so you will definitely find a video game for you in this tier list.
The first game I will be talking about is an amazing RPG ( role playing game) that you will definitely have fun while playing: Pokemon Sword/Shield. I give the gameplay a 4 out of 5. The attack style where you take turns is very nice and allows you to strategize your next move in battles. The environment is a 5 out of 5. The game takes place in a modern Pokemon society that has new technology. The games’ colors really pop and you never know what you are going to stumble upon while you explore the game. The wild areas are home to many cute, scary, and dangerous pokemon to find. The Pokemon is a 3 out of ten. We have the best starters (the Pokemon that you start out with) in a while. We have a cute fire bunny that looks harmless, but it is really effective in battle, a big grass type monkey that is playing the drum, and a weird but cool water lizard that is HUGE. Overall, I give this game a 4 out of 5. This game is a colorful, fun game that is good for all ages.
The next game I will be talking about is Job Simulator. This comedy style VR game takes you into a world of machines. The bots “simulate real world jobs”. I put that in quotes because the things that you have to do are sometimes absurd. You may have to throw a donut at another employee, or put up posters that say funny things. But what makes this game fun, is that you have COMPLETE control. You can do all of your tasks, or stay on the first level. I give the gameplay of this game, a 3 out of 5. The movement can be laggy at times, but you should expect that when an immersive environment is created around you. Sometimes you can make a mistake so bad that you cannot progress. So you just sit there, throwing stuff, eating a spoiled egg, and annoying your robot neighbors. But besides those two things, the gameplay is great. I give the environment a 4 out of 5. The environment can be a bit boring, but that is the point. This game is supposed to be comedic in its environment, with mugs that say, “GET BACK TO WORK!” or a sign that says, “Obey your boss because he is the supreme leader of the office…”. This is supposed to feel like a bland environment, but somehow it is still a great place to explore. I give this game a 3.5 out of 5.
The final game I will be rating is Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This fun, cartoony game is full of life and adventure. Picture this: you have signed up, along with two other villagers (Cute cartoon animals) , to the “Deserted Island Package” that says that you have craft to make tools and furniture, and sell to make money. In this game you try to level up buildings, craft new tools, and make your island a paradise. I give the game play of this game a 3 out of 5. The gameplay is relaxing and fun but It can get a bit repetitive. And while the villagers are cute, this game fails to capture the personality and feeling of most of them. You can actually have a conversation with villagers in the past animal crossing games, but now it just feels like the villagers are boring and have no life. Villagers can be mean in past games, but who doesn't have mean neighbors? And now they are all nice and SO ANNOYING sometimes when you want to give a villager something but they go on a tangent. But the villagers that you unlock later in the game are good enough to talk to. The gameplay for me is mostly based on this fact, so that is why I gave that rating. I give the environment a 5 out of 5. The fun island feeling of it allows you to be creative in ways. Everything is great to look at. Even the GRASS looks good. This is because of the pastel colors that they use. That is why I give this game a 4 out of 5.
