Paper Heart Garland
By, Rachel Koshy
Materials:
Red, pink, and white paper
Red, pink, or white string
Glue or tape
Scissors
Instructions:
Cut your string (it can be red, pink, or white) to make it a few inches more than a foot long.
Make a little loop at the top of your cut string.
Fold your paper (red, pink, and/or white) in half. Then, fold it in half three more times, until your paper has been divided into sixteen rectangles.
Cut your small square of paper into a heart shape. This should give you sixteen hearts.
Gather your hearts and your string.
Lay down one heart at a time. Put glue on all of your heart (on one side only).
Put your string on the glue side of the heart.
Now, place another heart over the heart, so that you can no longer see any glue.
Repeat this process until you’ve used all or most of your hearts.
If you have any left over, try making another garland, or making yours longer! Or use them in another craft.

Valentine's Day Paper Hearts
By, Gavin Lichtenthal
We hope that you all have a happy Valentine's day that is filled with joy. Thank you for reading the POBMS newspaper and supporting the Newspaper Club. We hope you enjoy this months’ newspaper. We work really hard on them, so we love when you read them. Have a great day, and have fun during February break!
Materials: Red and/or pink paper, scissors, markers, a pencil, stickers (optional), and any other decorations.
How to make paper hearts:
Fold a piece of red/pink paper in half.
Unfold and draw a heart using pencil where the middle is in the center of the page, aligning with the fold.
Fold it back in half and using scissors cut along the lines.
Unfold the finished project to reveal your heart.
Erase any pencil that is on the heart.
Draw a message on the heart like “LOVE!” or “Happy Valentine's Day!”
Decorate the heart with stickers, and gluing stuff on (optional).
Now you have a heart that you can give to your Valentine along with a present!
