EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

The POBJFK HS Business Department consists of diverse course offerings providing students the opportunity to learn skills and content knowledge applicable both in and out of the  business classroom. Course variety includes opportunities in Marketing, Administration, Management, Entrepreneurship, Finance and Law. These courses foster the development of students' 21st century skills and prepare them for life after high school.  Numerous courses are dual-enrollment, offering students the chance to earn up to 36 credits through LIU Post. 

Additionally, the department offers real-life work experience through their Work Based Learning Program. A variety of co-curricular and extracurricular activities offered through the department include DECA, Moot Court, Wall Street Investors Club, and Business Honor Society. Students have the opportunity to receive a Master's in Business Academics (MBA) through successfully completing a sequence of business classes. Additionally, the Business Department offers various Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathways towards graduation. Numerous industry certifications are offered through the Business Department including Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) in Word, PowerPoint and Excel, WISE Financial Literacy, and Intuit QuickBooks.
