What Age I Started Playing: I started playing Clarinet when I was in 4th grade.

What I Love About Playing Music: The People. Of course I love music itself and the process, but nothing is better than making music with other people, in particular your friends.

Fun Fact: I have an Identical Twin.

about MR. BIRGER

Alex graduated from Boston University in 2022 with a degree in music education with a concentration in clarinet performance. While there he studied clarinet with Kai-Yun Lu. He currently serves as Band Director at WES, FFES, SES, and MES. He has also served as Band Director at NMES. In addition to Elementary Band, Alex is the Assistant Director of the Plymouth High School Marching Band. Before plymouth, He taught in Danvers Massachusetts and is former teacher for Boston After School Music (BAM). He has continued to run his own private clarinet and saxophone studio. He is also a member of Tau Beta Sigma, national honorary band sorority.
