Students may enroll in this art class at Pick North one time before moving to the next level.
In Photography 1, you'll learn how to use real cameras (yes, the kind the pros use!) and discover how to make
your photos stand out using tools like Photoshop and Lightroom. You’ll also get hands-on experience in the
darkroom, developing your own film like photographers did before everything went digital. Whether you're
snapping pics with your phone or using a DSLR, this class will teach you how to turn everyday moments into
powerful images. No experience needed just bring your creativity!
Students may enroll in this art class at Pick North up to two times to further develop their artistic skills.
You'll shoot on real film, develop it by hand, and bring your images to life in the school's fully-equipped darkroom. You'll shoot and develop color film, too! You'll also dive into hybrid photography, where traditional film meets modern editing. Scan your negatives and enhance them using pro-level tools like Photoshop and Lightroom, blending the best of both worlds. Photography 1 is required, and if you're serious about photography. consider pairing this class with Photography 2: Digital for the full experience. You can take this course twice to keep developing your skills.
PHOTO 2: DIGITAL - (1 semester class = .5 credit)
Students may enroll in this art class at Pick North up to two times to further develop their artistic skills.
You'll learn advanced techniques in lighting, composition, and refine your
digital editing using Lightroom and Photoshop. This course is perfect for students who want to sharpen
their creative eye, build an impressive portfolio for college or competitions, and start developing a
personal style as a visual artist. Bringing your own digital camera is encouraged, but school cameras are
available. Photography 1 is required, and if you’re serious about photography, consider pairing this class
with Photography 2: Film for the full experience. You can take this course twice to keep developing
your skills.
