October was a great month at Plessy!
It started with the fun filled Plessy Fest 3 where we honored Trombone Shorty and played our hearts out! Then we had a whole school celebration for Spanish Heritage month with food, performances, and piñatas! And ended the month with all the fun and spookiness that is Halloween on the the 31st.
6th - 8th Clubs!
This year on Wednesdays 6th - 8th grade students can choose a semester long club! Our 1st semester clubs were a great start to this new program. Students have a ton of options ranging from newspaper to mural making!
November will continue to be packed with awesome highlights!
with 3rd & 4th Grade leading our next morning meeting, girls volleyball games, after school showcase, and a break to relax and rest with our families over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Ms. Josette & Ms. Berlyn - Kindergarten - Literacy
Standard: W.K.2 Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose informative / explanatory texts in which they name what they are writing about and supply some information about the topic.
Ms. Simms - 3rd Grade - Math
Standard: 3.NBT.A.1
Use place value understanding to round whole numbers to the nearest 10 or 100.
The menu prices needed to be rounded to the nearest dollar and you must add combinations to be sure a customer can never go over $50.00.
Ms. Keith - 6th Grade - Science
Standard: 6.MS.PS4.2 - Represent a simple model for waves that includes how the amplitude of a wave is related to the energy in a wave and how the frequency and wavelength change the expression of the wave.
Student created ‘self portrait’ waves based on the sound waves of them saying their first and last names.
