Three years into supporting Iowa's educators and students, the Scanlan Center for School Mental Health recognized a crucial need: involving parents and families in student mental health.
In response, we've launched "Nurturing Healthy Minds" to help parents and caregivers differentiate between normal stress and serious mental health issues in children. This initiative aims to reduce stigma and strengthen school-family partnerships. This couldn’t have come at a better time. Just a few weeks ago, the U.S. Surgeon General confirmed that nearly 3-in-4 parents are extremely or somewhat worried that their child will struggle with anxiety or depression.
