Harvest Park IPAL Preschool has 5 preschool classrooms each taught by a credentialed special education preschool teacher, a general education preschool teacher and supported by paraprofessionals. We are Pleasanton's first inclusive preschool where students with and without disabilities learn together in a developmentally appropriate educational setting. Our preschoolers are learning to build friendships in a real world classroom setting. They are learning problem solving skills, relationship building, early academic skills, classroom readiness skills, and respect for others. Inclusive education creates opportunities for ALL students to learn together. We look at what our students can do, not what they cannot do.
We offer a carefully planned program in which all areas of development are addressed in our curriculum, most importantly language, play and social-emotional development. The preschool program engages children in a supportive environment where we help children to recognize and manage their emotions, establish positive relationships, make responsible decisions and develop each child’s emotional intelligence in a language based learning style. We also offer our students education appropriate for preschoolers to include the components of STEAM. STEAM at the preschool level engages students in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Agriculture, Math & Music.
