Incoming 6th Grade Information
Welcome to Hart Middle School!
Welcome Future Hart Huskies!
We are so excited to welcome you to Hart Middle School. We understand that changing from the elementary school where you spent the last 6 years is a big transition to middle school. We got you! If you need something or have a question, reach out and ask.
Before school begins in August, we will have a Husky Camp orientation. The camp is a great way to meet other students, ask questions, and get a tour of the campus. More details to come in May!
We look forward to welcoming you to the Hart Middle School Family!

6th Grade Course Selection: In the Spring, Hart will reach out to all incoming 6th grade families through their elementary school with information on 6th grade elective courses and ask that families provide their elective course selection for their student(s) via google form. Here is the link to this year's 6th Grade Scheduling Form
Students can pick one of the options below:
6th Grade Exploratory Wheel
Our "Wheel" elective is a series of elective classes that rotate every 5-6 weeks. Students who select the Wheel will rotate randomly through ALL 6 classes, currently: Middle School Success, Art, Culinary, World Language, STEM and Drama.
Band/Strings
Students with previous music experience may continue with music in middle school. It is recommended, but not required, for students to have at least one year of playing experience.
Chorus
Students who love to sing are encouraged to try Chorus! No previous experience required.
PLEASE NOTE: This is for elective courses ONLY; all other courses will be added by Hart Counseling. Families will receive math placement information from the PUSD District Office in Spring 2023. If your student has an IEP, their current case manager will meet with their 6th grade case manager at Hart to confirm services and schedule options.
