Kindergarten

Kindergarten will enjoy many lessons each week with some of our specialist teachers:

The girls will be able to wear their PE uniform and joggers to and from school each Tuesday for their PE lessons with Mrs Donaldson and also on Wednesday for their Swimming Day, beginning in week 3.

The girls will need to bring a cloth Library bag to school on Fridays for their Library lesson with Mrs Goldzieher. Students must have a bag to be able to borrow.

Homework and Home Reading will follow a simple routine: each Tuesday a weekly homework grid will be sent home reminding you of PE, Library and Sport days and any other information you may need to know for the week. On this grid the homework tasks will be outlined. At this stage homework will be very simple, Maths Mentals, practising sight words and reading. The girls are very keen to get started straight away!!

Homework will begin next week. The weekly homework grid will be pasted into the girls’ homework books. These will be sent home on Tuesdays and should be returned on the following Monday.

Each student has news once a week. News is an important part of the Talking and Listening curriculum (English). Each week has a news topic about which the students will talk to the class. It is a good idea to discuss the topic with your daughter and allow her time to practise before the day. She may like to bring in an item to help with their news. However, it is best if precious items are left at home. It is preferred that the girls only bring special items to school on news days.
