IT for Parents @ PLC Armidale

PLC Armidale uses a number of systems to assist in the daily operations of the school. To assist with the flow of information and management of your daughter's time at the school access to some of these systems is provided to parents to take the place of processes traditionally completed using paper forms. This section of the Intranet aims to be an information source for parents about what the different systems are used fro and how to access them. A brief overview of these platforms is below.

EDUMATE

Edumate is the school information system that is responsible for maintaining records of students and parents before, during and post enrolment. Parents can use the Edumate portal to update theirs and their daughters details, check task results and view upcoming tasks, review timetables and school calendars and keep up with the internal communications from the school.

PLC Armidale APP

While the school leverages Edumate for daily management the interface used is not compatible with small mobile devices such as phones. In a move designed to improve our communications channels the school has invested in a specific mobile app for Parents and Carers. The app is designed to augment the functionality of the Edumate Parent Portal by giving quick access to daily tasks and functions. Push notifications are also available to prompt parents of important communications or tasks that are required to be completed. 

ORAH

Orah is a system for managing residents of the boarding houses. Access is provided to parents to be able to create and approve or decline leave passes for their daughter from their device at any time.

MY STUDENT ACCOUNT

MyStudentAccount is an exciting new addition for 2023. A prepaid account is created for students which they are able to access using their student card to pay for purchases in the dining hall and the teamwear store and recharge their print account balances. As this is a prepaid system there is no bill shock when school accounts are sent out, parents are in control of how much is spent and what it can be spent on. Online lunch ordering is also available via the parent and student portals for hot and cold meals from the Dining Hall. 

CONNECT is an in house web app for linking to the various platforms in use at PLC. Utilising single sign on technologies, users are asked to sign in once to the home page and are then able to navigate to a majority of our other systems without a requirement to log in again, meaning less passwords to remember. As more platforms are brought online they will be linked via CONNECT.

WEBSITE & PARENT PORTAL

In an effort to assist parents with accessing information relevant to their daughter's time at the school we are building a set of internet sites, of which these pages are part of. Specialist sites can be linked for sport, music and extra activities through the links at the top of the page. Information will be constantly updated so we encourage parents to check back here often.
