General Dress Code Information
We welcome all students of all genders and backgrounds to PBT and to the art of ballet. Our dress codes strive to ensure that our students’ attire allows them to work and perform at their best, to do so as safely as possible, and to feel affirmed while in our studios and on our stages.
We celebrate the variety of human skin tones and welcome the use of skin-toned pointe shoes, dance shoes and tights, during class and in performance, in addition to the stated colors at each level. For Levels 3 and up, pointe shoe color should be standard pink or skin-toned and tights should be in a corresponding color.
Dress Code Options
Students of all genders can choose from two attire options for class at PBT. Options are listed by school division and level. While students are free to wear either option, please adhere to the specifications for each option.
For everyone’s safety, only studded earrings are permitted during class, rehearsal and performance (unless jewelry is assigned as part of a costume). Please do not wear bracelets, necklaces, or other jewelry. Please ensure body art or tattoos are covered if requested for performance.
