Carrie Labbe (Fleischman), MBA, PMP, PMI-PBA | Director of Information Technology
Carrie Labbe is a transplant from Central NY (Oswego) who moved to the mountains for love. She obtained her BS & MBA from the State University of New York at Oswego and became a Project Management Professional (PMP) and PMI - Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Carrie has worked in nuclear, higher education and private consulting. Carrie provides her knowledge, technical support and expertise to almost every department across the County. She, her husband, Kraig and son, Henrik reside in Edwards, CO and have a Wheaten Terrier, Dembe.

Mary Lackner, GISP, PMP | GIS Manager
After receiving a MA in Urban Planning from UCLA, Mary Lackner moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 1988 when she accepted a position as an intern in the joint City of Aspen and Pitkin County Planning Department. Mary has over 25 years of experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and transferred to Pitkin County in 2014. She and Tyler Lambuth are the creators of Pitkin Maps & More, which has proven to be one of the most useful tools the County has to offer. She holds an ESRI ArcGIS Desktop Associate certification.

Andrew Shewmaker | IT Manager
Andrew moved to Colorado to attend CU Boulder and fell in love with the area. After graduating, getting married and collecting a full-house of pet children, he and his wife decided it was time for a change from the Front Range to the mountains. After 5 years as our in-house Application Developer Andrew has moved into the role of Process & Projects Manager.

Tyler Lambuth | GIS Analyst
Since graduating from the University of Colorado, Tyler worked for Summit County and the City of Aspen for over 13 years before transferring to the County in 2014. He and Mary Lackner are the creators of Pitkin Maps & More, which has proven to be one of the most useful tools the County has to offer. His primary responsibility is keeping the land records database current and accurate.

Jeremy Duncan | IT Analyst
Jeremy moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2009. He studied Fine Art and Art History at Oklahoma Baptist University and pursued graduate studies in Illustration at Savannah College of Art and Design. After working in the outdoor industry for over 10 years in various business management roles, he began work for Pitkin County in 2016. He supports Health and Human Services and provides support across the county for CivicPlus and CivicClerk. In his spare time, he chases his two small children around.

Michelle Steinberg | GIS Analyst
Michelle Steinberg is a Colorado native, but worked with a non-profit organization in Chicago for 15 years before moving back to Colorado in 2008. She has a B.A. in vocal performance and business administration from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley. She brings more than 14 years of experience with processes, documentation and IT/Quality Assurance support for County and State government. She currently serves as the Pitkin County Address Coordinator administator on the GIS team.

Michaela Higgins | IT Analyst
Michaela grew up as a military brat, and after traveling the world with her family, she moved to Boulder to attend University (and ski & climb). Post-undergrad, she got accepted into UC Denver’s Political Science graduate program, which led her to join the Best & Brightest program in Pitkin County as a Management Analyst intern. Michaela now works in IT as a BPA, working largely on Munis, Zoom moderation and 3CX.

Lauren Ussery | GIS Analyst
Lauren was born & raised in the Denver area. She has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/GIS & collegiate swimming career from the University of Denver. Lauren has a background in utilities, using GIS to map infrastructural networks & create programs for field use, most previously with the City of Aspen. Lauren loves to recreate and spend time outdoors, so she moved to the western slope as quickly as she could, and am grateful to have landed in the RFV in 2021. She enjoys biking, skiing, backpacking, gardening, silversmithing & trying to keep up with her husband in the backcountry.

Tanner Pfeiffer | GIS Analyst
Tanner was born in Denver and raised in West Virginia. He earned a BS in Geology and a minor in GIS from West Virginia University. In 2014, he moved to Dillon, CO and worked various jobs in the construction and service industries. After his stint in the construction and service industries, he worked as an Image Analyst for Maxar Technologies where he performed quality control of 3D surface models generated from high-resolution satellite imagery. In December 2022, he graduated from CU Denver with a Master’s of Engineering in GIS and Geomatics. Most recently, he moved to Carbondale for his position with the county as a GIS Applications Analyst. In his free time he enjoys skiing, whitewater kayaking, mountain biking, and hiking with his dog and partner.

Spas Angelov | IT Analyst
Spas Angelov was born in Bulgaria, and moved to Colorado with his parents at a time he was too young to remember. He spent his childhood years skiing and hiking right here in the valley. After graduating with a BS in Applied Mathematics at the University of Colorado at Boulder, he spent a year in San Diego working in semiconductor manufacturing as a Data Engineer. Colorado never left his heart however, and now he is back and eager to be contributing to the valley he was raised in.
