both ways save us from thinking” -Alfred Korzybski

Course Description

Theory of Knowledge is one of three core elements of the IB Diploma Programme that encourages critical thinking about knowledge itself. The intent of this course is not to teach content; instead, we will examine how we know what we know through discussions and various enrichment activities. We must make sense of our knowledge of the content areas as well as our beliefs outside of the classroom in order to strengthen our understanding of the world around us.

As a student, TOK should serve as a support for your other classes, and your other classes will support this course, as well. Nothing you learn and experience during your time in the Diploma Programme should be viewed in isolation, including the other two core elements of IB: CAS and the Extended Essay.
