You will learn about how the world of business works and about how businesses are set up and run. You will study real world business examples and find out how they operate. You will also enjoy business if you are interested in setting up a business and being an entrepreneur.

The world of business is constantly in the news and always changing. This provides new opportunities for millions of people across the world. Most of the working population are employed by businesses, and employers are always looking for business minded young people.

What careers is it useful for?

Studying GCSE Business can help you work towards a variety of career paths, including marketing, sales, human resources, and management in a wide range of different industries, including banking, retail management and hospitality. It is also useful if you are thinking of setting up your own business in the future.

How is it examined?

Written examination – 2 papers

Theme 1 – Investigating small business – 50%of the qualification

Theme 2 – Building a business – 50% of the qualification

The grades 9-1 are used.
