"Choosing KS4 pathways is exciting and a little nerve wracking. It is probably the first time a student will have to make long lasting decisions about their own future. Therefore, it is important to give it careful consideration. This is the first step on a journey that in many years’ time, through A level choices and university courses can lead to career decisions. It could be the first step to being a brain surgeon, a pilot or setting up your own business!
Whilst this is very exciting, our KS4 curriculum is designed to build upon the breadth of learning from KS3. All students study the core curriculum, and this keeps options open until the next decisions are made in Year 11 about Sixth form options. So, you don’t have to decide what you want to do with the rest of your life, just some of the subjects that you’re going to study for the next few years. Exciting times!"

At Pinner High School, our aim is to bring to life ‘Inspiring Learning’. As our Year 8 students begin to make important decisions that will affect their future, we aim to ensure that each child has the right guidance to put them on a path to reach their potential.
We know what a fantastic experience it is to be part of the Pinner High School community, how highly our students can achieve and successful they can be in the classroom and beyond.
We have incredibly supportive pastoral and academic teams who are looking forward to working with our Year 8 students in making these important choices.
Your child will be given an options form to complete. Please discuss these with them and support them to make their choices. They will then be given an options interview in school where they will submit their final options choices to their interviewer.
