Meet the Teacher

Hello! My name is Sharon Hawkins, and I have been an educator for over 20 years. I am excited to begin my sixth year teaching 6th Grade English Language Arts at Pinnacle Classical Academy.

My husband, Brent, and I have been married for 29 years. Brent is a Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher with Cleveland County Schools, Varsity Softball coach at PCA, and together we have two wonderful children, Greg and Evie. Greg is married to our amazing daughter-in-law, Haley, and recently started his own surveying business, Hawkins Geospatial. Evie is a student at Lenoir-Rhyne University, where she is majoring in Exercise Science and minoring in Sports Studies. She plans to become a pediatric occupational therapist after graduation.

As a teacher, my goal is to help every student develop a genuine love for reading, writing, and learning. Throughout the year, we will dive into engaging novels, strengthen reading comprehension skills, expand vocabulary, and grow as writers through a variety of creative and analytical writing assignments. My classroom is a place where students are encouraged to think critically, work hard, ask questions, and build confidence in their abilities.

I believe every child is capable of growth, and I strive to create a classroom where students feel challenged, encouraged, and valued each day.
