About

Greetings! My name is Caswell Martin. I have 20 years of counseling experience in a variety of settings including education, hospital, private practice, and community agencies. I have my doctorate in Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My master's and undergraduate work were at Gardner-Webb University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, respectively. I'd love to talk with you about my experiences at those schools! I have specialties in play therapy and multicultural issues.

I am a nerd at heart and a lifelong learner. Some of my favorite fiction recently has been the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Hard to choose a favorite book of all time, but Shogun by James Clavell (go medieval Japan!) and Cat's Eye by Margaret Atwood are right up at the top of the list.

I am a Shelby native and currently live in town with my husband and two children. My interests include anything that has to do with FOOD, especially growing it and canning it. I am half-way famous for my homemade salsa! I also love the outdoors and being in nature. My signature strengths are Love, Creativity, Appreciation of Beauty and Excellence, Kindness, and Perspective.
