Description: Design and create a pair of animal figurines utilizing recycled bottle corks. We design the product on TinkerCAD and then print them using the 3D printers. The design process consists of brainstorming, researching, CADding, 3D printing, and repeating until we are happy with the final product of the cork pals.

The design process consists of brainstorming, researching, CADding, 3D printing, and repeating until we are happy with the final product of the cork pals.
Brainstorm: I was inspired by one of the previous cork pals that was presented as an example, because of it's sunglasses. I wanted to make my figurines look cool looking, but also cute. This lead me to decide to make a pig and a reindeer, . . . . with sunglasses. I did some research on how deers should look like and got some inspiration on how the deer's wings should look like. The story behind the two figurines all began when I saw the cool cow cork pal figurine that was wearing sun glasses being displayed in front of me, I wanted to make my figurines cool, (plus I was too lazy to make the eyes).

1. First, we will select two corks that we like. Then we measure the diameters of both the corks on both sides with a caliber, which we will use for the ring.

2. Then we design rings on TinkerCAD according to the measurements of the corks' diameters. After, designing the rings, we will print the testing rings in 3D printing.

3. After all of the rings fit nice and tight, start designing the head and back of your animal design on TinkerCAD.

4. When satisfied with the design, print the animal figurines on the 3D printers. But... if there are problems or unsatisfactory with the final product, redesign and reprint the figurines.

This was the inspiration for the following animal cork pal figurine designs. It is the theme of sunglasses.

S- The rings were easily able to slide into the cork on the first try, without making them over and over again. I was able to accurately measure the corks' diameters on my first try.
O- I successfully printed my first product without any additional printing caused by things such as inaccurate measurement, problems with printing, and more.
U- I learned that I should be more careful when removing supports so that the final product won't be like the first prototype that was printed.
L- In the beginning, I put the diameter of the cork as the whole ring, which made it to small, but soon I caught the problem and fixed it.
WISCR: During this project, I think I mainly displayed the {I}(Insightful Critical Thinker)and the {S}(self-motivated) in WISCR. This is because I had to accurately measure the diameters of each individual cork, and then put the measurements on TinkerCAD. I had to process a lot of info and transfer the info onto a different platform. For the {S}(self-motivated), I was able to motivate myself even though when I faced conflicts on the way to success.
