These are my two printed out octopuses that I need to fix
Description: We were tasked with making an animal using recycled corks by sliding on the pieces to the cork. To check the measurements we used calipers, and added designs once we got the correct ring size.
Brainstorm: I first thought about animals that had a connection and I chose two different octopuses. The next step I searched online for inspiration for octopuses and then I decided to make my own. I made a france octopus and a girl octopus and here is the story behind them. One day there was a girl octopus living under the sea called Aurelia, and she decided to go on vacation to France. In France, there was a boy octopus that lived under the canals named Augusto. Aurelia was swimming in the canals enjoying her vacation when she met Augusto painting a scenery of the canals. She loved the painting and she and augusto continued to explore France together. This set of corkpals symbolize friendship and relaxation.
This is the cork measurments for my cork and the rings that fit it.
S- I think that one of my strengths is resilience when I tried and tried different ring sizes and even when it was wrong I still printed and got the correct size eventually
O- I think I should've tried different methods of measuring and designed first so that it would've been quicker, so when I figured out ring sizes, I could just add it in and print
U- I learned to be hardworking, resilient and patient, and that 3d printing takes patience and a lot of math
L- I tried a different cork than most people, one with a head bigger than most, so it was harder to measure and often didn't work out.
WISCR Grade: I would say that I was a self motivated individual which is the S in WISCR because I motivated myself to keep going and get the correct ring size, and design a good project that satisfy my expectations. I also had a lot of help from Mrs. Tran which helped me solve some of the challenges that came along.
