Description: In this project, we created our own digital resume using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We were able to created our website, style it, and add interactive features from scratch thanks to the help of Sublime Text.
Step 1 - HTML (image on the right): First, we coded our resume using HTML. We added information about our talents, education, extra curriculars, and more. We also included a form that states our skill and information about it. I felt extremely proud after completing this but I knew I needed to add colors and designs to make it even better. To do that, we used CSS.
Step 2 - CSS (image on the top right): Next, we styled our website using CSS. I decided on a purple theme and used various shades of it throughout my resume. I styled everything from the text to the background color. My favorite thing was including text shadowing on some of my headings. However, I still needed to add a contact form, so I moved to JavaScript.
Step 3 - JavaScript (image to the right): Lastly, in order to add interactive features, we needed JavaScript. Here, I was about to create a contact form. I am most proud of the alert I created which is customized based on the information that is inputed into the form. (Image below)
Soul Reflections:
S - Strength - One of my strengths was that I was able to work productively in class. Although I sometimes got off track, I worked very hard during class and turned in my resume on time.
O - Opportunity - If I had to do this again, I would incorporate more JavaScript into my website to make it even better.
U - Understand - From this assignment, I learned more about HTML and CSS. I also learned JavaScript for the first time. I feel pretty comfortable with them and that is something I couldn't say last year.
L - Limitation - I don't think I had any limitations on this project. However, next time, I would chose a different color scheme.
WISCR Reflections:
The two WISCR letters I think I embodied the most during this project is the "S" and the "I". The "S" stands for self motivated. During this project, I would compare my project to other people's. This discouraged me a lot and I often left like my work wasn't good enough. However, I was self-motivated and was able to turn in a resume that I was proud of. The "I" stands for insightful and critical thinkers. I chose this because I did a lot of critical thinking during this project. For example, there were times when I had to experiment with different functions and variables in order to make my resume that best it could be.
