10th Grade Planning

At a Glance:

• Take the Pre-ACT in October. 

• Update and review your academic goals.

• Attend a Charlotte area college fair in the fall. Attend the college representative visits offered by the PLP College Planning Team.

• Take the PSAT in October. This test is for practice only. The national test date and time is on our school calendar. Visit the College Board website at www.collegeboard.org.

• Continue to refine your college and career interest lists.

• Consider the Fall or Spring College Bus Tours.

• Three college visitation days are permitted per year.

• Attend the Sophomore College Night program with your parents in the fall and the PLP College Panel Discussion in Spring.

• Complete all assigned tasks from your PLP College Planning Counselor.

• Evaluate your performance and your interest in each academic area. If you are strong in a particular subject(s), consult with your teachers and PLP College Planning Counselor about taking Advance Placement (AP) courses. Check the College Board website to determine AP credit requirements.

• Visit colleges or universities if family travels bring you nearby.

• Use Naviance Test Prep to prepare for ACT.

• Seek out opportunities to prepare for SAT.
