As the Upper School Counselors, one of our goals at Pine Lake Preparatory is to help students identify their interests, abilities and passions in order to find the right college match and fit. Pine Lake students will engage in the college planning process in a variety of ways:
By utilizing this website (mostly geared toward parents/families)
By utilizing the Naviance site (mostly geared toward students) - allows students to search and match to colleges, explore career options, learn about their interests, track college apps, search for scholarships, prep for the ACT, access important forms, and so much more! Parents may access Naviance through their child's account. Click here to learn more about Naviance.
By attending events such as College Planning Night, College Fair, Career Fair, Alumni Day, college rep visits and college bus tours
By participating in classroom post-secondary planning lessons - facilitated several times per year by the grade level
Through one-on-one interactions with their school counselor
