Dual Enrollment 2021-2022 Application Information
All qualified current 10th-grade Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon students are eligible to apply.
Current 9th-grade Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon students successfully completing Algebra II Honors may also apply.
Application Checklist & Deadlines:

☐ Secure Appointment for CSN Accuplacer Placement Test - By March 18th, 2021
☐ Take the CSN ALEKS Placement Test - By March 18th, 2021
Additional Dual Enrollment Requirements
Students must be credit sufficient to participate in Dual Enrollment
Current 10th-graders - Required Earned Credits:
ELA 9 & ELA 10
Algebra I & Geometry
Biology & Chemistry (or Geoscience)
World History & U.S. History
Students need to have a minimum 2.5 GPA (cumulative & unweighted) at the end of their sophomore year
CSN Applications
Step 1: Click here to create a CSN account. After you log in to your new account an application will load for "Degree seeking students." This is the wrong application. Please close the tab and move on to step 2 below. The link in step 2 will lead you to the correct application. However, if you use the wrong application Mr. Doyle will make the correction with CSN later. The most important aspect of your account is that you are assigned an NSHE#.
CSN accounts will be used throughout the application and registration process.
STUDENTS MUST USE A PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS FOR ACCOUNT CREATION (Pinecrest email addresses will not work for the application process)

Application Essay
Submit a one-page, 400 words or less, single-spaced essay that explains why you would like to be part of the Dual Enrollment program.

Letter of Recommendation
Submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher, close family friend, religious leader, coach, or any adult in your life that can attest to your readiness to handle college classes.

Accuplacer & ALEKS Placement Testing
Accuplacer site for reading and writing: https://www.csn.edu/placement-testing
On the right side, under Testing Center, click Henderson Campus > Choose CSN Accuplacer Remote Proctoring and follow the instructions > follow the steps to choose a time and a date for testing
Students must place into ENG 100 or ENG 101 to participate in the Pinecrest Dual Enrollment program.

Follow the instructions to download the program on your computer and take the exam. (It will not work on a Chromebook.)
