The girls staff stay in either the staff cabin, "The Palace," or in cabins with campers (counselors). Things can get super crowded in the cabins it's important to remember less is more!
As far as bedding you will need:
Twin sheets (with some good depth so they stay on)
Pillow and blanket (recommended) or Sleeping Bag
Mattress pad (not required but helpful)
In the bathroom (college community style bathrooms), there are small shelves to keep a shower caddy or basket with your toiletries!
In the bedroom area, there is space at the end of each bunk bed for some plastic stackable drawers. They are awesome for your everyday clothes (socks, shorts, shirts). You can get them for about $10 at Walmart and it’s a great way to store and organize your clothes. You can keep other clothes in a suitcase or storage container if you’d like as well. If you’re driving to camp you can even pack for the summer in the drawers. If you are flying you can always purchase some drawers from Walmart once you get to Columbus.
The must haves here are two pairs of khaki shorts, a brown or black belt, and tennis shoes. We will wear this every opening and closing day with a t-shirt that Pine Cove provides.
Some things to keep in mind: shorts should be mid-thigh/fingertip length all the way around. Trust me you’ll thank me later when you’re wearing a harness or running around playing games. We won't allow Lulu 2.5" shorts, so feel free to just leave those at home :)
As for t-shirts, stay away from white (sos when it’s raining), and v-neck shirts. Also it’s trendy to wear size L or XL or even XXXXL shirts but keep in mind your shorts should be visible at all times, no lamp-shading (not being able to see your shorts bc of big t-shirt)!! You can wear a t-shirt with just about anything on it that's appropriate - think any college t-shirt that you would feel comfortable also wearing to a church event!
Plan on bringing one-piece bathing suits that provides good coverage (both chest and back) and support. We will wear shorts over our bathing suits so it could be a good idea to find some quick drying shorts!
Dressier or comfy casual clothes for church and Friday night dinner is perfect. It’s nice to have a few options if you want to dress up on the weekends too. Bring things that don’t wrinkle and can be folded!
Invest in some good closed-toed shoes as well. Sadly, we cannot allow Chacos or open toed shoes due to safety. You can bring them for off time though!
Lastly, don’t forget theme night clothes. We go all out!! Check out the Theme Night tab for a full list and ideas!
