OFFICIAL RIDGE PACKING LIST
Please make sure you read this entire list/page! We promise there's a lot of great stuff here!
Last Updated: January 2026
Must Have
Blue clothing item: This is our Ridge team color for orientation!
PBJ: Pen, journal, Bible! You will probably want a lot of pens, your campers will always need some!
Twin bedding (sheets or sleeping bag): We highly suggest bringing sheets and a comforter! You’ll be living on these for 6-12 weeks, so we want you to be comfy! Also make sure you have sheets that have some depth - camp mattresses are pretty thick!
Pillow
Towels: Bring one (at least) for the shower and one for the pool!
Toiletries
Flashlight
Digital wrist watch: Can't be an Apple watch! Consider perhaps a Spider-Man, Frozen, or Rolex!
Medication: The Ridge clinic will have general medication (ibuprofen, Benadryl, etc.) but bring anything specific to you (prescription, allergy medication, etc.). There will be a locked space that staff are required to store their medications for camper safety!
Backpack: You will carry your water, PBJ, and sometimes a change of clothes/towel. Just normal school backpacks are great!
Trunk or drawers: This makes getting to your clothes so much easier. There is a Walmart nearby if you are flying/or driving and don’t have room to bring these! An example here!
Water Bottle
Athletic shorts (week’s supply): Anything longer than knuckle or fingertip length is great! If you're not sure - text a returner!
T-shirts (week’s supply): Bring shirts that you’re okay sweating in and getting a bit dirty. I would also bring more than a week’s supply. Sometimes you want to change into a clean shirt after activity classes!
Khaki shorts (2 pairs): Two pairs! You will be tucking your shirt in, jumping, and sweating in these every Saturday and Sunday!
Brown or black belt: You will wear this with your khaki shorts for opening and closing day!!
Theme Night Clothes (see here or scroll down to the button below): Go ALL OUT HERE PEOPLE. Don't feel the need to spend a ton of money - get creative and thrifty! You will only be wearing them for the evening!
Dress Clothes (for Friday night): Think church attire/Sunday casual
Undergarments/Socks
Swimsuit: Modest one piece for ladies! If you’re a lifeguard, maybe bring two! Have shorts that you can designate as your pool shorts.
Closed-toed shoes: At least two pairs of running shoes/sneakers! Camp is rough on your shoes, so they'll probably get dirty. We are on our feet for most of the day, so make sure they are comfy!
Optional
Christmas sweater/fit: Second half staff, we celebrate Christmas in July! It's like an extra theme night!
Alarm Clock: Otherwise, it's your watch!
Raincoat: You'll want this!
Laundry Bag: With detergent (but there is a Walmart close if you need to get some) and quarters (for the laundromat) for weekend laundry!
Sunscreen and insect repellent
Stationary, envelopes, stamps: Write down addresses that you don’t have memorized #PhoneFreeLiving
Ziplock or airtight containers for snacks: Ants!
Folder: If you’re not wanting schedules you're given to just vibe loosely in your backpack, bring a folder home for them to live in!
Long sleeve shirt/hoodie: It gets chilly in the buildings or in the mornings sometimes!
Sandals or flip flops: Chacos/Tevas/Birks (for pool/water activities only)
Hat/sunglasses
Comfort/decor: Some counselors like to hang up the Bible verses or stringed lights. Think pictures, bible verses, lights, sticky notes, etc.
Small fan: If you’re used to sleeping with a fan, go ahead and bring a little one to set up by your bed!
Laptop: You can bring your computer for the weekends if you want! It'll need to be stored in the office with the phones during the week!
Dress Code:
No t-shirts that are going to become see-through if they get wet!
No Apple Watches!
No tank tops for girls or guys!!! (only exceptions: Girls - you can wear them on Friday night as long as they are 3 inches, Guys - you can wear jerseys, but just make sure if you are serving food you have a shirt to throw on over, since pits can't be out while serving!!)
No secular band shirts - we ask our campers to follow this rule, so we do as well!
If you love your shirts to be a few sizes too big (we feel ya), just make sure you’re not lamp-shading (t-shirt is covering shorts completely)!
Girls: shorts must be worn with a one-piece swimsuit while in the pool
No athletic skirts (save it for the weekend)
No tight athletic shorts
No white v-necks
Tattoos covered (with KT Tape, a sleeve, or by your clothes)
Guys: no muscle tanks
Shorts must be longer than knuckles/fingertip length for girls and guys
We hope these guidelines help as you pack for camp! If it is questionable, just don’t bring it (or ask a full time member and/or leadership staffer)!
Our goal is to point high school students to Jesus, not to ourselves - woo! Below, find links to packing tips for guys and girls, as well our theme night page!
2nd Half Staff! Packing for Training Week and Orientation looks a little different for you, because you're not diving straight into your half after training week/orientation!
You will not need ALL your camp things (like your theme night clothes, dress clothes, plastic bins/dressers, etc) until you come back for second half (June 27th). You will, of course, need to bring the clothes, bedding, supplies, etc that you will need to train and orient in!
One important things for 2nd Half staff: please, make sure you still bring khaki shorts and a black/brown belt to Orientation! You'll need them to look AWESOME in staff photos!
