Splitting Your Screen

Change your Tiled (Grid)View: Go to the three dots in Google Meet, click Change Layout and select the Tiled option, you can then move the slider at the bottom to increase/decrease the number of tiles.

Are you experiencing lag on your device and/or interruptions within your Google Meet experiences? Are you having trouble getting in? Here are some suggestions from the Tech Dept to reduce the issues.

1. Be sure to shutdown and restart your device daily.

2. Close unnecessary tabs.

3. Remove third party extensions such as Dualless and Google Meet Grid View fix.

4. Try clearing the cache on your device to help with this monumental woe. Here are directions:

Clearing Cache on Device

5. Put your device on a flat and elevated surface to prevent your device from overheating. Avoid using your device on the floor or bed for a long period of time.

6. Change your Meet layout to Spotlight view.

7. Change the quality of your device’s video to a lower resolution in Settings.

8. Remove yourself as a user from the Chromebook and add it again.

9. If you are in the Waiting Room, check on your audio and video by clicking that button.

10. If the student was removed from a Meet, the teacher will need to refresh their Meet link or re-invite the student (this will come as an email to the student to let them know they have been invited).

11. If you are unable to access using a mobile device, visit the App Store on your iOS device or the Play Store on your Android device to make certain your version of Google Meet is current. Google only supports mobile Meet versions for six months, and older versions of the app may then cease to function correctly. Alternatively, delete the app and then reinstall it from your mobile device’s appropriate app store.

If you're still experiencing trouble with video calls, try some of these additional troubleshooting steps. Request help via the IT Support form.
