Penn News Network

Welcome to PNN, the Penn News Network. This page offers a satellite site to allow students to publish their stories should pnn.phmschools.org come unavailable. In addition to that, this page offers a look at the different channels for which the classes publish.

Digital Signage at Penn High School

Students publish graphics that display on monitors in the hall. These graphics are usually "quick-hit" bits of information that students can digest as they are walking to class or lunch during passing periods. Students publishing for this medium strive to understand the importance of content, immediacy, and audience of such work.

The PNN News Show

The weekly show is the flagship production by Penn News Network. Before social media, before digital signage, before the PNN website, there was the PNN Show. It began in Penn's ITC (inside the IMC) around 1994, and it has continued ever since. Today, student-journalists produce news stories for a variety of media, including PNN.

This is an example of the PNN rundown students use to write and produce their shows. It is divided into 3 sections, main show, entertainment or social calendar, and sports.
