Industry Certifications are the other major indicator of CTE program success and health. It's our responsibility to prepare all of our students for industry-specific certifications. Students can use industry certifications for employment, post-secondary credits, college applications, and resume-building.

Preparing for Industry Certifications
Ensure that your curriculum covers the skills and concepts covered in the industry certification. You may want to reach out to your Industry Development Specialist (IDS) and/or your Career Awareness Specialist (CAS). Both of the those individuals are responsible for making sure your program offers an Approved Industry Certification.
Use your occupational advisory committee (OAC) to recommend products, texts, and direction in order to prepare students for industry certifications. Your OAC members may have used various materials to become certified.
Some programs order supplemental texts and subscriptions that support students with industry certifications.
