Scope and Sequence

The scope and sequence of your program how you will break down your task list (PAL) over the three years of instruction. The PAL tasks are all of the industry-specific standards that you must teach over the three years. The scope and sequence of your program is vital to the success of your students and is also required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

The scope and sequence will inform your syllabus for each year/class of instruction, and also serve as a framework for developing units, projects, and learning guides for the year. The PAL may not be in sequential order regarding what to teach when, and that's why developing your scope and sequence is so important. It will serve as the backbone for your units and planning.
