Phillips Brooks House Association runs summer programs for over 600 kids each summer. This year, we are running hybrid programs where most of our educational and youth development content will occur on Zoom, but we will also gather in small groups for summer recreation and fun.
CYEP serves Cambridge-based youth only aged 6 to 13. As of June 11, we have about 30 slots left, mainly for rising 1st graders, 4th graders, 6th graders, and 8th graders.
Does your grade 7-12 student want to take classes like “How the Brain Learns: Cognitive Study Skills”, “Markets and Competition”, or “The Science of Happiness”? Eager to make friends while spending six exciting Saturdays learning new things?
Register them for the Summer HSSP class lottery!
Summer HSSP 2021 is a six-week program for middle and high schoolers, open to grades 7–12 (including rising 7th graders and graduated 12th graders). It will run on Saturdays from 1 to 5 PM EDT, beginning on July 10 and ending on August 14. This year, you can take “Half Term” (3 week) classes, “Full Term” (6 week) classes, or both! Classes will be assigned by lottery—all registrations by 11:59 PM EDT tonight 6/25 will be considered equally! Register now at esp.mit.edu/hssp2021.
If you miss the deadline, don’t panic. Beginning in a few days, you’ll be able to add classes that still have open spots on a first-come-first-served basis.
The total cost of attending Summer HSSP is $40, which includes all six Saturdays of classes. We also offer generous need-based financial aid. Financial limitations should not prevent anyone from participating. More information about payment and applying for financial aid will be shared after lottery results are available.
We hope to see you this summer! Email us at summer-hssp@mit.edu if you have questions about the program.
Is your middle-schooler or rising middle-schooler interested in a career in healthcare? PopHealthExperience is an engaging and immersive introduction to public health for rising 7th, 8th and 9th graders. The program will run July 12-16, 2021 The program runs from 10am-4pm and will be held via Zoom to ensure the safety of participants and staff. The cost of attendance is usually $450.
