I have served in the county of Prince George as a School Counselor and now Director of School Counseling for over a decade. Prior to this, I taught Health & Medical Science and served as a Firefighter/Paramedic within the same county.  My academic background includes a Master of Education in School Counseling, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership, both through Liberty University. In addition, I possess a graduate endorsement in Administration and Supervision through Longwood University.  Finally, I am a veteran foster and adoptive parent. I believe in the importance of a home/school connection. As parents are the first teacher a child encounters, I believe it is paramount that we collaborate with the parents in an effort to ensure the social, emotional, and academic needs are met. Please feel free to contact me via e-mail at Sbhatt@pgs.k12.va.us

I was born and raised in Ohio and moved to Long Island, NY in 2019. I moved to Virginia in July of 2022. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University in Human Development and my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Hofstra University. I speak Spanish and have experience living in Chile, South America. I previously worked in college admissions as well as financial aid. I have two rescue dogs, Strawberry and Jasper, and have loved exploring the state parks in VA!
My main goal as a school counselor is to provide a safe environment to help ALL of our students grow academically, emotionally, and socially. I am a strong advocate of mental health awareness and believe that parent/guardian involvement in their child’s needs is essential.
I am so excited for this year at Clements and I can’t wait to help support our students!
