Haines, Alaska

On a week long mission trip with a local church, I had the opportunity to serve the individuals and local community of Haines, Alaska. Throughout the week, our group helped families within the town that were affected by mudslides, and also helped revamp a satellite Echo Ranch Bible Camp. Some of the serving activities I participated in included :

• Demolishing old cabins and walkways for new ones to be rebuilt for the church camp.

• Demolishing trailer homes in town for new ones to be rebuilt.

• Building a new GaGa Ball pit for a new Echo Ranch Bible Camp location in Haines.

• Moving stones to prevent further damage at a local family's home.

This service trip showed me the importance of involvement and gave me a bigger understanding for generous serving. I had the ability to serve others within a team setting while growing in my faith. This experience gave me a sense of appreciation and thankfulness.
