STUDENT SERVICE LEARNING HOURS
In order to earn a high school diploma, ALL Maryland students must earn at least 75 student learning hours. Students earn 51 of their service learning hours by successfully completing certain classes. They must earn the remaining 24 hours by doing service within the community.
Service learning hours can be earned in a number of ways as long as the service is provided for a non-profit. All service learning hours should be submitted to Mr. Russell, our guidance secretary, or their professional school counselor using tis form. If your child earned any service learning hours during middle school, please have them submit their hours as soon as possible.
We would like to see every Class of 2027 student earn at least half of their required service learning hours by the end of the school year.
For mor information about service learning hours, please visit the Maryland State Department of Education Service Learning page.
