Quick Relaxation Techniques to Add to Your Day

Visualize a Personal Paradise

Visualizing pleasant imagery can calm the mind. First, sit comfortably. Close your eyes and take several slow breaths. Imagine yourself in a peaceful place of your choosing. Hold that image and experience all the positive feelings associated with it. Bring in other senses. What do you see, touch, hear, smell or taste? When you feel more relaxed, slowly leave your imagined world and return to the real one.

You might imagine yourself:

• Gazing over the ocean.

• Walking through the woods, listening to birds sing.

• Sitting in a park under warm sunshine.
