Jaguar Enrichment & Academic Support
On Thursday, May 23rd and Tuesday, June 3rd, the ESSA & Title I Office will sponsor two Family Engagement Sessions for parents/guardians to provide activities/strategies of how the tools can be used. The May 23rd session will focus on grades K, 2 & 4. June 3rd’s session will focus on grades 6-8.
I'd like to let you know about our organization The Every Child Project (TECP). Our mission is to increase the accessibility of one-on-one academic support for all students grades K-12. We provide free, online tutoring for K-12 students via our network of volunteers at the University of Maryland.
Recognizing that not every student has equal access to academic opportunities, we aim to bridge this gap through our tutoring services. As an organization, we have tutored hundreds of students across the state of Maryland since 2020.
Our mission is to assist more students and help them achieve the education they deserve to their fullest potential. If you are interested in receiving our tutoring services, please fill out the registration form below. We also included a demographics survey for you to fill out. Both links are attached below.

Our Jaguar club will help reach our SPP goals for K-2 and 3-6 reading/MCAP-Math assessments, meeting or exceeding an increase in the percentage of improvement on the Math MCAP, Reading MCAP, and WIDA ACCESS assessment (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) by offering students exciting, unique, and interest-driven opportunities. This club will be held for 8 weeks, twice a week, from 2:15- 3:35 pm, with teachers- one from each grade level. Teachers will monitor attendance weekly, we will have a slot of 10 students per session, and monitor if it increases. Teachers will encourage students' critical thinking skills to help them achieve higher scores on their reading/math assessments. Students will build on social skills and problem-solving skills, along with scenario-based team-building activities. We will inform parents if their student have been selected to participate in this program.

TUTORME PROGRAM
PGCPS is excited to partner with TutorMe to provide academic support to students in the form of tutoring. TutorMe is an online tutoring platform that connects students to live tutors, 24 hours a day in over 300 subjects, right from their home. Students using the TutorMe platform can communicate with live tutors using audio, video and chat functions. Screen sharing is available and students can also have their papers reviewed using TutorMe’s Writing Lab, which provides detailed feedback on their essays or reports in less than
12 hours.
All students who attend PGCPS are eligible to use the one-to-one tutoring program. Students will be able to access TutorMe using the district’s Clever Platform by using PGCPS student login credentials. Each session is saved along with a transcript of the session. TutorMe conducts an extensive background check on each tutor and has a system for regularly monitoring tutoring sessions for quality and safety.
We hope that you will encourage your student(s) to participate in this great opportunity. Please review the attached Virtual Learning Best Practices document to support proper usage of the program. To learn more about TutorMe in PGCPS, please visit our website at:
