Department of Defense Scholarship-for-Service Program
The SMART Scholarship-for-Service Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), is a combined educational and workforce development opportunity for students pursuing a STEM degree. Awardees for both the SMART Scholarship and the Ronald V. Dellums Memorial SMART Scholarship (Dellums SMART Scholarship) receive full tuition, annual stipends, health and book allowances, mentorship and conduct internships at a DoD facility. Both scholarships establish a pipeline for recipients to begin a civilian career with the DoD. Review the eligibility requirements below to begin your application. Applicants must pursue a degree in one of the 24 SMART STEM disciplines.

Bermea-Hernandez "Build Your Future" Scholarship
The goal of the Bermea-Hernandez "Build Your Future" Scholarship is to create a conduit between the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) professions and the most promising students with design and construction-related majors in local universities. The program recognizes students’ pathways to the profession and encourages them to thrive and to pursue professional excellence. This scholarship is intended to provide students with financial assistance and mentorship through their post-secondary and professional years. The Bermea-Hernandez family is committed to supporting future AEC professionals through advocacy, mentorship, and scholarship.
Criteria:
- Current Pflugerville ISD Graduating Minority Senior
- Enrolled in Pflugerville ISD
-Pursuing their career in architecture, engineering, design, or construction-related fields
- Students intending to pursue a vocational-technical school or community college program also qualify to apply.

- A one page “Personal Statement” essay answering the following questions:
Explain your career aspirations and your educational plan.
Explain how this scholarship will assist with your plans.
Pick something that you see around you that you think could be redesigned to work better (i.e., layout of a neighborhood, location of an airport, shopping area, etc.) and describe how you would redesign it.

Extended Day Program (EDP) Scholarship
The Extended Day Program uses the money returned to them through the PEF Employee Giving Campaign Half-back Program to fund a scholarship for a graduating senior – their staff donate to the annual giving campaign and PEF returns half the donations to each school/department to use as they would like. EDP has generously used their PEF funds to support this scholarship.
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial support to a graduating PfISD Senior pursuing a college degree in Education at an accredited state university in Texas.
Current Pflugerville ISD Graduating Senior
Currently participate in one of Pflugerville ISD’s extracurricular activities (i.e. U-Tech, Theater, Athletics, Culinary Arts, Music, Dance, Debate, etc.)

Infusion Dance Scholarship
Purpose:
To provide college financial assistance for Pflugerville ISD seniors who are pursuing a college degree in the Performing Arts, and/or Arts Education.

- Enrolled in Pflugerville ISD Fine Arts Elective or Organization (ex. Dance, Band, Orchestra, Theatre, Choir)
- Pursuing higher education in the field of Fine Arts

PEF - Jack Murchison Jr. Perseverance Scholarship
Purpose:
The Murchison family initially donated $45,600 to create this scholarship, to honor Jack Murchison Jr. The Scholarship will fund $2500 to the recipient, $1250 in the fall, and $1250 in the Spring semester. The top 5 applicants will be interviewed by the committee as a part of the final selection.

Luminary Scholarship
The purpose of the Luminary Scholarships is to recognize graduating seniors from each high school who have demonstrated significant achievements in overcoming obstacles in life and becoming bright lights on their campus, along with the teachers who have significantly impacted the students’ lives.
The criteria for selecting recipients has been determined by the Pflugerville Education Foundation Board.
Nominee must be a current senior in PfISD
Nomination must include a full explanation of the student’s personal or academic challenges he/she has overcome, community/volunteer service, extracurricular activities, leadership qualities, academic achievement, and how the student meets the district/campus core values
All nominees must be in good disciplinary standing
Student must be in good academic standing
Nominations don’t have to come from PfISD staff
Recommendation Letter: (other than nominator) Recommendation letter from a school staff member, community service leader, or performing arts instructor.

PEF "Pfuture Workforce" Scholarship
The purpose of the PEF "Pfuture Workforce" Scholarships is to provide financial support to a graduating PfISD Senior pursing a degree in in-demand career fields: Nursing/Healthcare, Social Work, Education, Construction, Engineering, Operations, Marketing/Communications, Data/Math Analysis, Information Systems, Accounting/Finance and Software Development.
A Pflugerville Education Foundation committee will screen and select award 5 recipients per year
Scholarship total is $1,000 toward college tuition or course books with proof of enrollment and/or evidence of payment (reimbursement)
Payment will be sent to the institution
Criteria
The criteria for selecting recipients has been determined by the Pflugerville Education Foundation Board.
Must be a current senior in PfISD
Must pursue a degree/certification in one of the listed fields
Must attend a 2-4 year institution.

The purpose of the Pfluger Family Scholarship is to provide financial support to a graduating PfISD Senior who is enrolled in a high school Career & Technical Education (CTE) program and who is pursuing a professional certification or an associated degree in CTE; or is a graduating PfISD Senior pursuing a degree in CTE.

Provan-Lockhart Scholarship
Many times, scholarships require a certain GPA or athletic ability, which eliminate students who have had additional circumstances, such as parents who divorced, sick relatives, mistakes, or other outside factors. This prevents the student from being able to reach a certain GPA or academic resume needed for the majority of scholarships.
Michelle Provan, PfISD alumna from 2005, has partnered with Pflugerville ISD and the Pflugerville Education Foundation to create a different type of scholarship. This scholarship rewards a student who has made outstanding change during high school and who has persevered through adversity. They deserve to be recognized, and the Provan-Lockhart Scholarship will give them that opportunity.

Silva Latina Leadership Scholarship
The purpose of the Silva Latina Leadership Scholarship is to provide financial support to a graduating PfISD Latina Senior pursuing a degree.

Civilian Marksmanship Program Scholarship
Each year, high school student-athletes involved in marksmanship programs are encouraged to apply for CMP Scholarships – a program that lends economic support to young marksmen and women who have shown dedication on and off the firing line. These scholarships may be used to pursue post-secondary or vocational programs, community colleges or university educations as well as trade schools to cover a variety of interests.

Hendrickson HS MCJROTC Booster Club Scholarship
The MCJROTC Boosters will award up to two (2) $500 scholarships to current MCJROTC Cadets at Hendrickson High School for the 2024-25 school year.
**Note: A minimum of three (3) Cadets are requested to submit an application. This enables the selection committee to make a fair assessment in selecting at least one awardee of monetary scholarship(s). If less than three (3) applications are received, the Booster Club reserves the right not to make a monetary award.**
Qualifying Criteria:
→ be currently enrolled as a Hendrickson High School senior and have been a part of Hendrickson’s MCJROTC class for at least 2 years;
→ have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale;
→ complete declaration of intent to enroll or have current acceptance for enrollment in an accredited degree program* as a regular student.

Pflugerville Native Victor To was raised by a single working mother whose perseverance and enduring love for her children allowed him to become the first member of their family to graduate college. The purpose of this scholarship is to honor the devotion and sacrifices made to give us a chance at a better life.

2024 AMVETS Children/Grandchildren Scholarship
The AMVETS JROTC Scholarship - Children & Grandchildren is available to graduating high school seniors pursuing higher education. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic promise, and merit. Students who have participated in the JROTC program are welcome to apply.

Mike Evans Family Foundation 2024 Scholarship
The Mike Evans Family Foundation is excited to award 13 college scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year.
Each recipient will be awarded $10,000, with $5,000 going to the first semester, and $5,000 going to the second semester. Scholarship recipients will be required to provide a transcript after their first semester to ensure they have achieved a minimum 2.0 GPA. You must have your grades submitted no later than December 31, 2024.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Must be a high school senior, planning to attend an accredited college or university in the fall
Minimum grade point average of 2.0
Participated in or exhibited leadership in scholastic, athletic and/or community activities
