Rebecca Cauthron has been a private flute instructor for 30 years for school districts in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area including Duncanville, Southlake, and Coppell. She has recently relocated to Austin but continues her position once a week as an Adjunct flute professor for Dallas College while teaching freelance in the Austin area. Ms. Rebecca, as she is called, has celebrated a studio diverse in ethnicity, income, and abilities; a teacher/flute-mom to all who wish to find the love and joy in creating music from the heart. She has employed innovative strategies to create sound fundamentals incorporated with aspects of reaching beyond the written notes to help students realize their potential, achieve their goals, and learn a few life lessons along the way.
She holds a flute performance degree and theory minor, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from the University of North Texas and a Master’s Degree in teaching with a focus in early childhood music and flute from Texas Woman’s University. She was a founder and served on the National Flute Association’s Youth Committee which advocates for programs for flute students at the national convention and year-round. She is a published author of a beginning flute method book, The Potential Contender and her flute students have won local, state and national competitions. She has presented at colleges, conventions, and masterclasses, most recently at TMEA and the National Flute Association’s National Convention. Ms. Cauthron has been the flutist for the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas for over ten years and has performed with many other Dallas Ft. Worth area choirs using her Native American flutes, Recorders, and Chinese Dizi flute. When she is not teaching or performing, Rebecca loves to cook and create recipes, garden, and is an avid baseball fan.
Lisa Link Edwards, oboe, holds a Bachelor of Music degree with honors from the
University of North Texas and a Master of Music degree from Arizona State University,
both in oboe performance. She has studied with Dr. Charles Veazey, Stuart Dunkel, and
Martin Schuring. She has performed with numerous groups in central Texas including
the Austin Chamber Music Festival, the Austin Chamber Music Center, the Austin
Symphony, Zilker Musical Theater, Lyric Opera San Antonio, the Victoria Symphony,
and the Victoria Bach Festival. Lisa currently teaches privately in the greater Austin
area.
Marcie Tirrell started playing clarinet in the 5th grade and has been playing for over 35 years. Growing up in a small Utah town, in high school she begged her parents to take lessons from the professor of clarinet at BYU 90 minutes away. Her dedication in high school paid off as she won several competitions and was a Music Sterling Scholar. She later attended BYU playing in the top orchestra and band there, and playing first chair in the BYU Wind Symphony. She toured with these groups in several countries in Asia, Europe, and the South Pacific. She graduated with honors from BYU with a bachelor’s in Music Performance and Pedagogy. After graduation, she performed with the Utah Valley Symphony for 7 years. She currently plays with the Millennial Choir Orchestra performing at the Meyerson Center in Dallas, the Long Center, and Bass Concert Hall.
Marcie enjoys teaching and helping students develop skills on the clarinet and improve in musicianship. She has taught private lessons for over 25 years. She enjoys teaching all levels, from beginning to college. She also plays the piano and enjoys singing. She and her husband live in Pflugerville and have three beautiful children who are developing a love of music as well.
Brian L. Trittin is a graduate of the University of Arizona (1993) where he earned a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Saxophone Performance and a minor in Music Education. He also has Music Education degrees from Moorhead State University, Moorhead, Minnesota (M.S., 1990, B.S., 1986). He has been a proud member of the Texas State University music faculty serving as a saxophone instructor, classroom professor, and music education student teacher supervisor. He is also a member of the Southwestern University faculty serving as the saxophone instructor since 2017. He has been a member of the music faculty at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota, and Concordia University, Austin, Texas. In addition to private saxophone instruction, he has taught courses in music theory, history, orchestration, jazz history, and popular music.
As a saxophone performer, Dr. Trittin has performed as a featured soloist in the United States, Spain, Germany, and Canada, frequently as a woodwind specialist in musical theater in the Austin area, and as a guest soloist with local high school and middle school bands. He also provides solo recitals and master classes for local high schools and middle schools. Brian Trittin is an educator at heart and sees it as a privilege to help students of the saxophone become better musicians and performers on this versatile instrument.
Nicoletta Pignatello is a freelance horn player and teacher in the Austin Area. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Lawrence University and her Master’s Degree from Ithaca College. She teaches in Hutto, Pflugerville, Austin, and Round Rock.
A native Austinite, Matthew Flores is excited to share his love of music and passion for the trombone at Weiss High School. As a trombonist Matthew has worked as a clinician, performer, recording artist, and audio engineer. Matthew’s education includes an undergraduate degree from Texas State and a Master's degree from Ithaca College. Goals for his students are to develop a love and excitement for music, create strong practice habits, and build confidence in themselves as well as the trombone. Matthew’s trombone studio includes students from Cele, Bohls, and Akins. To relax, Matthew likes to go for a ride on his sweet e-bike or throw a frisbee.

Sean Simpson is a first-year lesson teacher at Cele Middle School and the front ensemble technician for Weiss High School. Before teaching in Pflugerville, Sean resided in Mansfield, Texas, where he worked with the Lake Ridge High School front ensemble. Sean is studying at the University of Texas at Austin for his B.M. in percussion performance. Sean regularly performs with the UT Wind Ensemble, Butler Opera Center, the UT Percussion Ensemble, and various other groups at UT. Sean enjoys running, practicing for his upcoming performances, and hanging out with his friends in his free time.
