Welcome to the Cele Middle School Band!
Mr. Edwards joined the staff at Cele for our first year in 2013. It all started when he called Mrs. Humphrey, whom he knew from teaching at AISD, to recommend one of his college students for the position. Mrs. Humphrey convinced Mr. Edwards that he was meant to teach at the middle school level. She was right and the rest is wonderful history! Mr. Edwards teaches beginning clarinet, alto saxophone, trombone, euphonium, tuba, and symphonic winds. He also assists with wind ensemble.
As a performer, Mr. Edwards has placed in the finals and as a winner of many different international competitions. He has been featured as a concerto soloist in the wind ensemble and orchestral mediums. Here in Austin, Mr. Edwards holds the position of Principal Tuba with the Austin Opera Orchestra and is a regular performer for the Austin Symphony and Austin Symphony Brass Quintet.
In his free time, Mr. Edwards likes to spend time with his brothers and cat, Gerry.
