Summer running

Although the vast majority of our runners only run during the season, there are others who are always looking for additional running opportunities. Here you will find some running opportunities that some of our runners are or have taken part in over the years. For more info you can also reach out to Coach Walz at walzcat@pewaukeeschools.org

Chocolate Factory Runs

Once summer school classes are done, many athletes continue to meet at school on Fridays at 3:00 pm for the Chocolate Factory run tradition.

Runners who bring money can buy a cool treat then the group walks back up to school.

The 2 mile route leaves school, goes past the lake front, up to the intersection by Stop N Go, then heads back ending at the Chocolate Factory.

The 3.1 mile route begins the same then heads north on Ryan St., through the neighborhood, down Park Hills Dr., and ending at the Chocolate Factory.

Sunday Family/Community Long Runs

Once summer school classes are done, many athletes continue to meet at school on Sundays at 6:00 pm for a weekly long run.

Routes are the same as summer school Wednesday long runs.

3.1 miles: Mugshotz

You will head out through the trail that connects school grounds to Steeplechase. After carefully crossing Meadowbrook/Prospect follow Peterson Dr. around to Mugshotz and the head back the same way you came.

4 miles: Waterfront

This route starts the same as the 3.1 mile route but at Mugshotz you will turn left onto Elm Ave. followed by a right onto Woodland Dr. At the stop sign by Waterfront turn around and head back the same way you came.

5 miles: Peninsula Dr.

This route starts the same as the 4 mile route but at Waterfront continue straight Turn right to stay on Woodland then turn right on Oak St. When you reach Peninsula Dr. (on your right) turn around a head back the same way you came.
