This year's #PetrocReads5 reading event has ended. Thank you to everyone who took part and submitted their reviews this year!
We invite all students and staff to read and review 5 books* by the end of the year. You can make it as hard or as easy as you want to - it is up to you to challenge yourself.
* If 5 books seems too daunting, read an article, poem or website that interests you.
Click the link to register, or head up to the Library or Learning Centre to collect a registration form.
You can choose to read from each of our 5 chosen genres: Travel, Film adaptation, Classic, Fantasy, Non Fiction.
If that seems too daunting select something that you think would enjoy reading - there are lots of ideas on this page to help you choose. Choose something that you can manage but not something too easy - it is a challenge after all!
You can come and choose something from the shelves in our library or a book from home or your public library. If you don't have time to read a full length novel we have a good selection of Quick Reads. If reading in English is a challenge we also have some graded readers with CDs, a selection of easier fiction and picture books too.
If you have registered online, then add a review to our review wall at the bottom of the page and complete the form below so that we can keep track of your progress. Your review can be as long and short as you like - it could even just be a score out of 5 with a comment or two.
If you have registered in person, we have some manual review forms that you can complete available in the Library/Learning Centre.
Every month there will be a draw to win a small prize for all those who have completed a review in that month. There will also be a draw at the end of the academic year for all those who have completed the the challenge.
