Please email all book requests to Library@petroc.ac.uk
Formerly known as My Discover, EBSCO is a brilliant platform for finding peer-reviewed articles.
You can also explore a huge range of resources including journals, trade publications, conference materials and more using your own keywords. You can also find book recommendations from the Library's collection that match your search terms.
Be sure as well to try out the new Concept Map to help you build a more advanced search, or Publication Finder to see where relevant articles for your subject get published. Try the Supplemental Sources option to take your search into other eResources that Petroc has a subscription to.
You can also access it from your phone with the EBSCO Mobile app! Scroll below to explore.
To find your article, type a keyword into the box. There are filter buttons beneath the search box that you should select:
Always select at my library to only get results that are available to you.
Select full text articles to rule out any results that are books in the Library collection.
Always select peer reviewed. This means the articles you have found have been assessed by other researchers in the field before being published, thus ensuring a better accuracy.
You can also use the advanced search feature to fine-tune your results further. You can input keywords and then select whether they should be included in the article's title, subject, or even author name. Make sure you scroll down the page to select the same filters as above.
You can now save your search results and return to them later on a different device, by signing in to EBSCO. In the top right corner, click the MyEBSCO icon and select Sign in to MyEBSCO. After a few seconds, you should be logged in automatically.
Every article has a bookmark icon you can click to save it to your profile. You can also create project folders to store articles for different topics, such as if you're working on multiple assignments at once.
You can also export all articles to your college Google Drive.
