Cite Them Right can help with all your referencing of sources at Petroc. There is more than one style of referencing in academic papers, which all format the citations slightly differently. Therefore it is important that you know which style you need to use.
There are a few different referencing styles that various Petroc courses use:
Harvard (most subjects)
APA (some Psychology courses)
OSCOLA (some law courses)
Your tutors will know and should tell you which referencing style they wish you to use. If you are unsure, be sure to ask their advice first before referencing any work.
In Cite them Right, you can use the tabs at the top to find the sort of source you need to reference. Each page will explain what information you need to reference. There will also be a practice box you can enter a source's details into, so you can be confident your citation is formatted correctly.
The Cite them Right Referencing Tutorial is an interactive guide to help you understand what referencing means, why you need to do it, and how to correctly write a citation for a source you are using.
