CAREER & COLLEGE PROMISE (CCP)

Associate in Science, Associate in Arts, Associate in Arts in Teacher Preparation, Associate in Science in Teacher Preparation, and Associate Degree in Nursing Pathways 

(ASCTP, AACTP, AATP, ASTP, and ADN)

The Associate in Science (ASCTP), Associate in Arts (AACTP) College Transfer Pathways, Associate in Arts in Teacher Prep (AATP), Associate in Science in Teacher Prep (ASTP), and the Associate Degree in Nursing Pathway (ADN) are designed for high school juniors and seniors who wish to begin study toward their Associate degrees. The ASCTP is for the STEM or technical major and the AACTP is for the non-STEM major. The pathways are a structured set of courses included in the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA) between the University of North Carolina and the North Carolina Community College System. The courses are selected from the Universal General Education Transfer Component (UGETC) of the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement. To be eligible for enrollment in the pathways, students must demonstrate college readiness in English, reading and mathematics on an approved test. See Attachment 1 for approved college readiness assessments and cut scores.*All courses are subject to final state approval.

*Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from these classes if the class times do not coordinate with the bus transportation.  Students also follow the community college calendar which is different from that of Person High School and are responsible for their textbooks and any class fees.

Career Technical Education Pathways

Career Technical Education Pathway (juniors and seniors)

*Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from these classes if the class times do not coordinate with the bus transportation. Textbooks are provided for CTE pathways for students enrolled in “H” sections only. Students enrolled in non”H” sections are responsible for their textbooks. 

Career Technical Education Pathway (sophomores)

The Appropriations Act of 2013, S.B. 402, amended NC General Statutes 115D-20(4) a.2 to allow “academic transition pathways for qualified freshmen and sophomore high school students that lead to a career technical education certificate or diploma in industrial and engineering technologies.”
