Hello, I'm Master Sgt (ret) James Heaton, and I'm honored to serve as the Senior Army JROTC instructor. With almost 23 years of military experience, I bring a deep commitment to leadership, teamwork, and personal growth. I am highly motivated, passionate about what I do, and eager to share the knowledge and skills I've gained throughout my career. My goal is to encourage, challenge, and support every cadet through developing their confidence, growing their discipline, and encouraging a strong mindset to build upon their leadership ability. I am excited to be here and look forward to helping each cadet reach their full potential and best version of themselves. 

Army JROTC is a leadership development program designed to challenge students, build confidence, and inspire excellence. Rooted in the values of discipline, respect, and teamwork, it provides cadets with hands-on opportunities to strengthen their character, sharpen their decision-making skills,  and develop a sense of purpose bigger than themselves. 

Students who participate in Army JROTC gain far more than classroom knowledge- they learn how to lead, how to communicate, and how to carry themselves with pride and professionalism. They discover what it means to serve their school and community, to set high standards, and to hold themselves accountable.
