Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a sacred American holiday dedicated to honoring the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation. It is a time for reflection, gratitude, and remembrance as communities across the country proudly display the American flag, gather at memorials, and pay tribute to the heroes whose courage secured the freedoms we enjoy today. Memorial Day stands as a powerful reminder that liberty is never free and that the legacy of our fallen service members will forever live in the heart of America. 

Cadets from our Army JROTC program helped place 304 flags across the front lawn of Perry High School, with each flag representing a brave service member lost since the Vietnam War. This time-honored tradition serves as a powerful tribute to the fallen, and our school’s memorial display is truly second to none.
