High School Science

Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood.
Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less. ― Marie Curie

While the summer is a time of rest and relaxation for students, it is also an opportunity to transfer their previous year's understanding into long term memory for access in future years.  The goal of the PTHS science department is to produce scientific literate citizens who are equipped to meet the demands of modern society.  Graduates must understand how science is conducted, measured, and validated, as well as, its limitations.  To that end, students in ALL science courses will be responsible for separate assignments that are specifically designed for students to increase their scientific literacy before entering their course.   These items are a review of content that they are expected to know by the end of their previous course.  Expectations are clearly stated in the course links to the right in the document below.  Students will be graded on their assignments the first week of school. Teachers may give students a quiz based on their summer material.  For any questions please contact Ed Kopp, Supervisor of Science, STEM & Aviation at edward.kopp@pequannock.org
