Field day finally came! After it was rescheduled, grades K-5 had a blast doing fun activities! Many supporting SJG families came and some parents volunteered to grill lunch and help out with explaining the games. We all had the time of our lives and it was a great last SJG Field Day for 5th graders.

The talent show was on the 21st of May. As you can see in the picture, in the opening act there were dancers holding up signs with Mr. Reiner's face on them. They danced to "It's Gonna Be Me" and "Me Too". The talent show was great and the kids had a blast!

The SJG service club has worked so hard to set up and organize our school's annual Senior Tea! The residents at Hearle Village came to our school and every grade came down and presented something they have made or learned about. For example, the fifth graders made place mats for the seniors to eat on and take home. These beautiful place mats were made with the help of Mrs. Mangarelli.

Autism Awareness
April is Autism awareness month so people can recognize people on the Autism Spectrum. We learned about all the different ways Autism can present itself because of the way their brains work differently. Also we learned ways to make new friends and be nice to people that have Autism.

Author Visit
For the past few years Mrs.Sinopoli has been reading Dory Fantasmagory to each grade. They have loved this series for so long and this year something special has happened, the Author of Dory Fantasmagory Abby Hanlon has came to are school as the Author visit and everybody loved it and everyone had amazing questions to ask Abby Hanlon and the grades even got to see the cover for the 7th book of Dory. Also it wasn't just all Abby Hanlon's work it was also her kids that helped with the books because a lot of the ideas for Dory came from Abby Hanlon's kids. Also lots of funny incidents that happened in the Dory books came from the kids life and her life that inspired her to put them into her books. Thank you Mrs. Sinopoli for having us listen to you reading the Dory book series in the library and having Abby Hanlon come to are school.

Jump Rope for Heart!
I hope everyone is excited for Jump Rope for Heart coming up in a few weeks. This event is where you participate in fun games, but it's not a contest. It's going to be a nice day for jumping and getting your heart pumping!

Jump Rope For Heart is a fun activity to get your heart pumping! As Mr. Larranaga said, "Jump Rope For Heart is very important and healthy for your body." Jump Rope for Heart includes moving to different stations, and different exercises. Jump Rope for Heart does not just include jump roping, but many other activities. For example, Mr. Larranaga includes a rock paper scissors station too! This is not a normal game of rock paper scissors, this game includes running and jumping around! Everyone looks forward to this activity, and jumping around with their friends!

We all went to an assembly where they saw a magician and for every trick he brought up an amazing book to encourage them to read more great books. The magician would do funny things that would make the whole APR erupt with laughter and applause. They could get those amazing books that helped them read for the Read-A-Thon!
