Model Affiliate
As model affiliates of Parents as Teachers, our home visiting program provides a variety of services to our families. All of our home visitors go through extensive training provided by Parents as Teachers in order to prepare them on how to best serve their families.
The goals of our program through use of Parents as Teachers are:
to increase family knowledge of child development and improve positive parenting practices
to provide early detection of developmental delays and connection to services
to improve family health and well-being
to prevent child abuse and neglect
to increase school readiness and success
to improve family economic well-being
to strengthen community capacity and connectedness
The Parents as Teachers model consists of four components:
Personal Visits
Our program employs highly qualified and trained staff who partner with families to support child development and parenting skills. Home visitors provide activities to do with your child as you learn more about their development.
Group Connections
We provide monthly connection events for families to meet other families where parents and children can socialize while learning new skills. We value the importance of social connection with others in similar circumstances.
Resource Network
Home visitors are equipped to provide connections to community resources to help not only the child, but the whole family.
