How often will I receive visits?

Most families will receive two personally planned visits a month that last about one hour.

The family educator assigned to your family will partner with you to support engaging parent activities at each visit.  The family educator will also help meet goals you've set, as well as provide resources and information on your child's development.

When and where do visits take place?

Visits happen during the hours of 8:00-4:00, Monday through Friday.  Your family educator works with you to find a time that works best for the family, typically in your home.

How do I know if my family is eligible?

Home visiting is for families who are expecting a new baby or have children under 3 who are not yet eligible to attend preschool.  Families are identified based on screening results.  There are a variety of ways that a family will qualify.

How do families participate in the screening process?

Families provide their child's birth certificate, a form or income or benefits (such as SNAP or medical card) and answer a few questions about their family and child.   Contact the Early Learning For All office at 309-740-2294 to schedule a screening.
